Process Improvement Department


The Process Improvement Department at the UCR School of Medicine works to implement a continuous improvement cycle that drives down inefficiencies and eliminates wastes such as excessive cycle times, redundancies, etc.

School of Medicine Innovation Program

The SOM Innovation Program was established to empower staff and encourage imagination, collaboration and innovation. It allows individuals to submit ideas or suggestions to:

  • Improve products, a processes, community relationships, and patient safety?
  • Introduce a new concept, product or service line?
  • Reduce or eliminate any types of waste?

The program is also an opportunity to share departmental success stories of process improvement, enhanced patient safety and experience, cost savings or other areas where improvements have been made.
